Application Procedures

Centralia School District is a member of EdJobsNW. EdJobsNW provides one application process for employment opportunities in area school districts and the ESD. The Centralia School District requires applicants to complete a on-line application (https://www.edjobsnw.org/) AND submit a letter of interest Attention, Principal.
 
To be considered an active candidate for a particular position with the Centralia School District, a candidate must meet the required qualifications as listed on the job advertisement for each position. Candidates who have a valid and completed application on file and who have expressed interest for a particular position will be considered along with other applicants who may have applied for the open position. After screening of the applications, selected candidates will be interviewed by the administrator or supervisor.
 
Classified Employee Requirements:  To be considered for any classified position with Centralia School District, you must have completed the following:
  1. Continuing/Temporary Positions - You must have an AA Degree or have passed the ETS ParaPro Assessment
  2. Substitutes - Pass a Basic Skills Test with at least 70% correct
  3. Completion of Washington State Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Release Form
  4. Completion of the Fingerprint Requirements

Fingerprint Requirements

State Requirement: Washington State law requires that all new employees of a school district or an educational service district (ESD) with regularly unsupervised access to children be fingerprinted for a record check through the Washington State Patrol (WSP) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
 
District Requirements: Effective June 11, 1992, pursuant to RCW 28A.400.303 and district procedure, all new certificated and classified employees in the Centralia School District must complete a satisfactory fingerprint check with WSP and FBI. All employment is considered temporary and is conditional pending satisfactory completion of the investigation.New employees, whether hired full-time, part-time or temporary must meet completed this requirement. Applicants wishing to be a substitute will be placed on the substitute list only after first being cleared by the Washington State Patrol.Payment for fingerprinting is the responsibility of the employee/applicant.
 

Employment

Applicants who are offered employment with the Centralia School District will be required to provide proof of identity and authorization to work in the U.S. This requirement is the result of the 1986 Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA). This law prohibits the hiring of unauthorized aliens. A list of acceptable documents verifying identity and authorization to work will be provided to applicants who are offered employment.
 
Final employment is contingent upon a thorough reference check, receipt of satisfactory results from the Washington State Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Release form, and clearance by the Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint check process. The fingerprint check and Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Release processes are the reponsibility of the candidates and are required in accorandance with state law and in order to assure the safety of our students and staff.
